About the Blog
What inspired me to start 'Chasing Fire: From Magma to Mountain' stems from a third-grade fascination with volcanoes and a need to keep them a centerfold in my life. I believe science communication is key to bridging the gap between scientists and the public. Knowledge and understanding of our research can only increase trust and create a mutually beneficial relationship. My volcano travel blog stands apart because it is not only showcasing the beauty of volcanoes and surrounding activities but also explains the science and history behind eruptions. I aim to demystify these mountains, fostering respect rather than fear. I aspire for readers to get excited about volcanoes, sparking both new vacation ideas and a desire for continuous learning through travel.

About Me
I grew up in the valley of Phoenix, Arizona where I enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, and dancing. After graduating high school, I attended Scottsdale Community College where I majored in Dance and Dance Film. After dancing professionally and working for a couple years I finally decided to chase my dreams of becoming a volcanologist. I moved to Oregon and attended Oregon State University (Go Beavs) where I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Geology and was able to partake in two volcanology focused undergraduate research projects. I was able to gain experience in python coding, field work, LAICPMS, and research dissemination. I am currently a LiDAR Technician and am working to get into grad school so that I can continue studying volcanoes and sharing their beauty with the world.
